Human Disability Development & Disability Equalities

IFFFAP creates media to promote empathy and empowerment for the disability community. Our ultimate goal is to help create a more inclusive society where those with physical and intellectual challenges are treated with respect, and their needs are understood and accommodated.

Health Development Initiative – Striving for a Healthy Society

IFFFAP works to increase vulnerable households’ access to healthcare and services. We strengthen local institutions to provide better care that prevents and treats illness while mobilizing communities to take integrated approaches that address economic, social and infrastructure development.

The cost of natural disasters is high, but lives can be saved before they ever occur. As climate change and increasingly erratic weather patterns increase the risks of devastating storms, droughts and floods, we are helping communities identify, assess and reduce their risks. Creating response plans and resilient strategies now can help better protect people tomorrow.

Supporting disaster preparedness, relief and long-term recovery.

Disasters are increasing in complexity and duration. While the IFFFAP recognizes the need for emergency response funding, we remain committed to ensuring that funds are available for longer-term recovery and building resilient communities. In all of our work in this sector, we emphasize the importance of following internationally accepted standards and best practices.

Our core emergency response activities include:

  • Recruiting and placing expert staff and volunteers to respond to health and infrastructure needs.
  • Mobilizing mobile medical units to affected and remote communities in need of health care and pharmaceuticals.
  • Procuring and distributing medicines and relief supplies based on needs lists from Department of Health and health facilities.
  • Strengthening cold chains and supply chain management to ensure effective medicine and supply distribution over the long-term.
  • Improving the skills and knowledge of local health care workers and training new staff in priority intervention areas, such as emergency obstetric care and rehabilitation, to make lasting improvements on health systems.
  • Building resiliency in affected countries and communities through providing emergency preparedness training and guidance.
