Why Volunteer with IFFFAP?

Volunteering offers vital help to people in need, worthwhile causes, and the community, but the benefits can be even greater for you, the volunteer.
Volunteering and helping others can help you reduce stress, combat depression, keep you mentally stimulated, and provide a sense of purpose.
While it’s true that the more you volunteer, the more benefits you’ll experience, volunteering doesn’t have to involve a long-term commitment or take a huge amount of time out of your busy day.
Giving in even simple ways can help others those in need and improve your health and happiness.

Volunteering: The happiness effect

Helping others kindles happiness, as many studies have demonstrated.
When researchers at the London School of Economics examined the relationship between volunteering and measures of happiness in a large group of American adults, they found the more people volunteered, the happier they were, according to a study in Social Science and Medicine.
Compared with people who never volunteered, the odds of being “very happy” rose 7% among those who volunteer monthly and 12% for people who volunteer every two to four weeks.
Among weekly volunteers, 16% felt very happy—a hike in happiness comparable to having an income of $75,000–$100,000 versus $20,000, say the researchers.

International Foundation for Fight Against Poverty [IFFFAP]. IFFFAP is a registered non-Governmental, non – Political, non-religious, non-profit making organization.

The Organization is registered under the Department of Social Department (South Africa) with Registration Number: 202-180 NPO. International Foundation for Fight Against Poverty [IFFFAP] started operating in South Africa since January 2018 as a global NGO but starting its operation within the Gauteng region to establish its strong footprints.

Working within the directions of FIVE YEAR STRATEGIC PLAN FOR International Foundation for Fight Against Poverty [IFFFAP] 2018 – 2023, IFFFAP focuses in four (5) programs include Human Disability development & Disability Eqalities, Health & Education Development, Women and Youth development, Disaster Relief & Humanitarian development and environmental sustainable development.

“The ultimate goal of IFFFAP social development is to improve and enhance the quality of life of all people especially people with Disabilities. It requires democratic institutions, respect for all human rights and fundamental freedoms, increased and equal economic opportunities, the rule of law, promotion of respect for cultural diversity and rights of persons belonging to minorities and an active involvement of the civil society. Empowerment and participation are essential for democracy, harmony and social development. All members of society should have the opportunity and be able to exercise the right and responsibility to take an active part in the affairs of the community in which they live.”

IFFFAP focus mainly on activities in key sectors of Human Disability development:
More than one billion people in the world live with some form of disability, of whom nearly 200 million experience considerable difficulties in functioning. In the years ahead, disability will be an even greater concern because its prevalence is on the rise. This is due to ageing populations and the higher risk of disability in older people as well as the global increase in chronic health conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer and mental health disorders.

Across the world, people with disabilities have poorer health outcomes, lower education achievements, less economic participation and higher rates of poverty than people without disabilities. This is partly because people with disabilities experience barriers in accessing services that many of us have long taken for granted, including health, education, employment, and transport as well as information. These difficulties are exacerbated in less advantaged communities.

To achieve the long-lasting, vastly better development prospects that lie at the heart of the Social Development Goals and beyond, we must empower people living with disabilities and remove the barriers which prevent them participating in their communities; getting a quality education, finding decent work, and having their voices heard.

This landmark international treaty reinforced our understanding of disability as a human rights and development priority. The World Report on Disability suggests steps for all stakeholders – including governments, civil society organizations and disabled people’s organizations – to create enabling environments, develop rehabilitation and support services, ensure adequate social protection, create inclusive policies and programmes, and enforce new and existing standards and legislation, to the benefit of people with disabilities and the wider community. People with disabilities should be central to these endeavors.

Our driving vision is of an inclusive world in which we are all able to live a life of health, comfort, and dignity. We invite you to use the evidence in this report to help this vision become a reality.

Volunteering at IFFFAP is a great way to meet the community, use your skillful talent for the benefit of others to acquire and be empowered through you. CHANGE START WITH YOU!
